Writer's picture: Kendal VillaKendal Villa

Good morning everybody, we hope today is filled with laughter and joy!

Today's highlight will be directed to Computer Science, which is an elective you can take from freshman to your senior year of high school. The only prerequisite you need is Algebra 1. The pathway for this course can be taken as followed: Intro to Computer Science -> AP Computer Science Principles -> AP Computer Science A. At the end of your high school term, you may even qualify for a "Science and Technology" Career Chord at graduation! Our mentor representative, Prashaant Mudgala, is currently enrolled in Intro to Computer Science and has been learning about different ways of coding and creating websites.

In addition, students will learn how to create animation, operate wheeled robots, use programs (such as Html, CSS, Python), create their own apps, and even craft a web page on a topic of their choice. We hope you have gained a new interest in Computer Science and utilize the opportunity to take the course in high school to learn more about this interactive elective!

If you'd like more information, feel free to check out this video below to hear from the teacher about what is taught and why you should take this unique pathway.
